TERMS AND CONDITIONS GOVERNING ADMISSION AND ENROLMENT

Please read the policies and terms and conditions governing the admission to the School and the child’s continued enrolment as student at MAHSA International School, as set out below.
  1. ADMISSION AND ENROLMENT PROCESS
    1. A Parent intending to enrol his/her child to the school, must submit the “APPLICATION FOR ADMISSION” Form, duly and accurately completed and signed.
    2. False, inaccurate or misleading information could lead to rejection of the application to be admitted to the School.
    3. The parent must at all times inform the School of any changes to such information.
    4. The School further reserves the right and the parent hereby authorises the School to contact previous school, medical officers or other relevant persons for further information relating to the child in considering the child for admission.
    5. An “APPLICATION FEE” is payable in full for each submission of the Application for Admission Form (Please refer to the Fee Schedule). The Application Fee is non-transferable and non-refundable regardless whether the child is successfully admitted to the School or otherwise.
    6. The school will schedule a "PLACEMENT TEST or OBSERVATIONS and INTERVIEW" session for your child.
    7. The admission of the child is at the absolute discretion of the School and the School is not obliged to offer any justification for rejection of any application. Similarly, placement of the child is also at the absolute discretion of the school and in this regard, the School generally takes into consideration various factors, including child’s age, academic ability, level of achievement relative to the School’s current students and the child’s behaviour.
    8. If the assessment results are satisfactory, The Parent will receive the “OFFER LETTER” and if not satisfactory, the Parent shall inform the Admission Personnel should he/she decide to re-apply, otherwise within the stipulated date as stated in the “REJECTION LETTER”.
    9. If any offer declined by the parents in writing or by default, the Application will be automatically cancelled.
    10. On being offered a place, the Parent shall pay immediately the required “REGISTRATION FEE”, “TUITION FEE”, “DEPOSIT” and OTHER FEE (Please refer to the Fee Schedule).
    11. Fees for subsequent terms are payable in advance, to be paid before the commencement of the first day of the term. The School reserves the right not to allow the Student to attend the class until all outstanding fees have been paid. There is a surcharge added to any outstanding balance past due, which is genuine pre-estimated of the cost to the school of a default.
    12. If the parent fails to pay any payment due and payable, the School reserves the right to withhold all examination results, certificates and school records of the child.
    13. Please note that fees are normally reviewed on an annual basis and that the fees indicated on the current fee schedule may not be the fees applicable for subsequent terms. For the avoidance of doubt, the School reserves the right to revise the fee when deemed necessary.
    14. Parent consents to allow their child to participate in residential and day-out-of-school field or school trips, theatre performances or shows that all fees are payable, including expenses thereby incurred will be on the parent’s or guardian’s account.
  2. DISCIPLINE, SUSPENSION AND TERMINATION
    1. The school reserves the right to suspend or expel a Student in case of misconduct or a serious breach of discipline, particularly if this has a detrimental effect (in the opinion of the School) on the other students in the School.
    2. In the event of the student having a contagious or infectious disease or illness or in the event of an outbreak of a contagious or infectious disease or illness at the School regardless whether the Student is so infected or otherwise, the Head of the School at his discretion prohibit the student from attending the School for such period as the Head of the School deems necessary. The parent or child shall have no claim against the School arising from any such safety action taken by the Head of the School.
    3. Student must attend all classes regularly, participate in all relevant school or extra curriculum activities and sit for all relevant examinations applicable to the student unless excused on medical grounds or other compelling cogent reason. Failure to attend classes, shall entitle the School to take such actions as may be required, including without limitation, requiring the student to repeat an academic term/terms or to be withdrawn from the School.
  3. EMERGENCY AND LIABILITY
    1. In case of medical emergency, where parent cannot be contacted to give consent, the Parent hereby agrees and consents to the authorise the Head of School to arrange for the Medical examination of the Student by the registered doctor, or send the Student to the clinic/medical centre. Parent agrees to indemnify the School fully for all expenses thereby incurred on such account.
    2. The parent agrees that the School shall not be liable for any death, personal injury or any loss or damage of any kind whatsoever which the student may sustain any time either within the School premises, authorised filed trip or elsewhere, which is not attributable to the negligence of the School, its officers, agents or employees.
  4. PHOTOGRAPHY AND IMAGES
    1. The School may and the Parent hereby give consent to the School to take such photographs, images, works or derivative works including examination results of the child and use, free of charge in any media and for whatever purpose of the School shall deem fit, including without limitation for any promotional materials within MAHSA International School, including website of the School and other educational institutions within MAHSA Group.
  5. MEAL PLAN
    1. Please note that parents will be automatically billed for the “MEAL PLAN” (Please refer to the Fee Schedule)
    2. The menu can be found on the School website. Parents of children on the ‘Meal Plan’ are requested to pay for the set meal in advance on a termly/yearly basis. Therefore, please do not send your child to school with money.
    3. Payment can only be made by the “CASHLESS CARD SYSTEM”.
  6. SCHOOL UNIFORM
    1. All students are expected to wear school uniform during the School day, on the way to and from school, at school events and on school trips and activities unless otherwise instructed.
  7. CAR STICKERS AND PARKING
    1. All vehicles entering the School on a regular basis must display a “MAHSA International School Car Sticker” for the current academic year. Each family is provided with two car stickers free of charge. Up to two more car stickers can be purchased from the school office at a cost of RM 20 each.
    2. Parking for parents, staff and visitors are provided on campus. All drivers should drive extremely carefully and slowly around the campus at all times. Please note that parking is at the driver’s own risk. The school accepts no responsibility for any damage to, or theft from, any vehicle whilst it is in the School car park.
  8. WITHDRAWAL
    1. Parent may withdraw the child from the school by giving the School ONE (1) FULL ACADEMIC TERM’S NOTICE and to complete the “WITHDRAWAL FORM” failing which the fee deposit SHALL be forfeited in full. The said notice shall set out the date of such withdrawal date, failing which the same shall be deemed as insufficient notice.
    2. All monies refundable under the conditions hereof shall be refunded free of interest and must claimed by the Parent within on (1) year from the date the child ceases to be a Student in the School, failing which such monies shall be forfeited, whereupon the Parent shall have no claim in respect of such monies thereafter.
  9. ALUMNI
    1. All graduates or school leaver who have spent at least one academic term in MAHSA International School, shall be automatically be included as the School’s Alumni, where the student may be contacted or notified of any School Alumni activities/updates unless, the student chose otherwise and inform the School in writing.
  10. GENERAL
    1. Parent acknowledges that the School incorporates the usage of internet in the curriculum to enhance the child’s development activities and agrees that the School has made clear the importance of cyber safety and has implemented sufficient measures to shield the child from potential threats on the internet. The parent agrees that he/she will share responsibility in monitoring the child’s internet usage.
    2. Students are responsible for the security and safe use of all property and are for ensuring that all such property is clearly marked with the student’s name.
    3. Students are responsible for the safe condition and use all digital and electronic appliances that they bring on to school premises.
    4. The school shall be entitled at any time to amend, add or delete any terms and conditions in respect if the admission of the child, his/her continued enrolment at the School or any matters related thereto. These Terms and Conditions are intended to promote the education and welfare of each student and the stability, forward-planning, proper resourcing and development of the School. Parents are requested to check the website: www.miskl.edu.my for the latest versions of the Terms and the Parent agrees to be bound by the latest version of the terms.
    5. All references herein to ‘Parent’ shall mean any and all parents and/or any all guardians of the child and the provisions herein shall be binding on them jointly or severally.
    6. All references herein to ‘child’ or ‘student’ shall refer to the applicant, candidate or enrolled person at the school.
    7. The School/We means MAHSA International School, fully owned by MAHSA Sdn Bhd.
    8. The ‘Head’ is the person employed by MAHSA International School to be responsible for the Student and includes those to whom any of the duties of Head or the School have been responsibly delegated. The expression ‘The Head” in these Terms and Conditions means, where appropriate, the Principal and/or the CEO of MAHSA International School.
    9. The offer of a place and its acceptance by the Parents give rise to a legally binding contract on these Terms and Conditions. This contract was made at the School and is governed exclusively by the laws of Malaysia.
    10. Where a Student has been withdrawn from the School and applies for re-admission, The Registration Fee, Application Fee, Tuition Fee and other Fee payable are required to be paid prior to such re-admission.
ACKNOWLEDGEMENT AND AGREEMENT
  1. I have read and I fully understand the above policies, Terms and Conditions and the nature and effects thereof. I hereby expressly confirm my agreement thereto. I further undertake to perform all such obligations and/or comply with all terms and conditions set out above on my part to be performed or complied with, particularly but not limited to payment of all monies payable.
  2. I acknowledge that prior to signing this Agreement I would have obtained independent legal advice (as necessary) and satisfied myself that I understand the nature and extent of the rights and obligations under this Agreement including the consequences if Student and I as Parent/Guardian do not comply with the Terms and Conditions of this Agreement.
  3. I acknowledge that the withholding or non-disclosure of any relevant information relating to my child’s physical, medical or educational needs may affect my child being offered or maintaining a place with the School. I agree that any offer of placement is conditional on the accuracy of the information provided by me.
  4. I agree to be fully responsible to give sufficient firm notice of withdrawal or indemnify and hold the school not liable in any way, in the event such sufficient firm notice is not given as per Clause 8.1 above.
  5. I acknowledge that the school corresponds with me to share updates and information about the school from time to time. I agree that if I do not wish to receive any of the information, I will notify the school in writing.
  6. Data Protection: By signing the Acceptance Form or by agreeing to be bound by these Terms and Conditions, I, the Parents and on behalf of the Student, authorise the School to process personal information including financial and sensitive personal information as is deemed necessary for the legitimate purposes of the School within MAHSA Group. I understand that the School holds information about my child including but not limited to exam results, forecast results, parent contact, financial information and details of medical conditions. I understand that the School processes information about my child in order to safeguard and promote the welfare of my child, promote the objects and interests of the School and MAHSA Group, facilitate the efficient operation of the School and ensure that all relevant legal obligations of the School are complied with.
